Peace Found There

Photographs from where Gangjeong village, music, and peace meet
Gangjeong sits on the southern coast of Jeju, looking out to Beomseom islet beneath Mount Halla. Decades after the 4·3 massacre, a new layer of history began in 2007 when residents started resisting a naval base. This gallery preserves the atmosphere of concerts held on that very shoreline.
The images span the 2023, 2025, and the ongoing 2026 camps. Alongside musicians on stage you will find haenyeo (Jeju women divers), Gureombi-rock activists, children in the crowd, and Peace Center volunteers — all hinting at the community beyond the festival itself.
