For a Safe and Dignified Camp
Camp Guidelines — 3rd Gangjeong Peace & Music Camp
1. Introduction
The Gangjeong Peace & Music Camp is a space of musical solidarity, dreaming of a world without war. These guidelines exist so that every participant — musician, staff, volunteer, or audience member — can share this time safely and with dignity. They apply equally to all.
2. Prohibited Behaviors
The following behaviors are strictly prohibited throughout the event, regardless of location.
Hate & Discrimination
- Any discriminatory or hateful speech and behavior based on gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, age, nationality, ethnicity, disability, appearance, religion, class, or other grounds. Being "just a joke" is not an excuse.
Sexual Harassment & Violence
- Unwanted physical contact (including minor contact such as handshakes or hugs)
- Sexual remarks, jokes with sexual connotations, or comments on someone's appearance or body
- Approaching someone without consent, following them, or repeatedly contacting them
- Sexual harassment through digital or online means
Photography & Recording
- Taking or posting photos or videos that identify someone's face without prior notice or consent
- Illegal filming (of bodies, private spaces, etc.)
This year's camp will be filmed and photographed for a documentary and archive. If you prefer not to be recorded, please wear a mask.
3. What Is Consent?
Consent must be clear, voluntary, and revocable at any time. "No" or "I'm uncomfortable" is a complete answer in itself — no explanation is required. Silence, hesitation, or uncertainty is not consent. Past consent does not guarantee present consent. Consent given while intoxicated may not be valid.
4. If You Experience or Witness an Uncomfortable Situation
- Intervene directly — step in naturally by changing the subject or interrupting the conversation.
- Check on the person — ask "Are you okay?" and stay with them.
- Seek help — alert a nearby staff member.
- Document — if it is safe to do so, note the time, place, and details of the situation.
5. How to Report
If you experience or witness an incident, please reach out through any of the following means.

- Write a detailed record of the date, location, specific actions, and the perpetrator's reactions.
In other cases
- The reporter or survivor will be connected with the safety team.
- A course of action will be developed through communication between the reporter or survivor and the staff member.
Regarding the Accused
- The status of the accused (musician, staff, audience, etc.) is not grounds for exception.
- The level of action taken is at the discretion of staff and authorities, and cannot be contested on-site.
Confidentiality
- The survivor's identity and details of the incident will be shared only with the minimum number of people necessary for response.
- Nothing will be disclosed externally without the survivor's consent.
Preventing Secondary Harm
- Questions such as "Why were you there?" or "Why didn't you say something sooner?" will not be asked.
- Defending the accused or expressing doubt about the survivor will be treated as secondary harm.
7. Medical & Emergency Situations
- In an emergency, call 119 immediately and notify a nearby staff member.
- Basic first-aid supplies will be available at the main booth.
8. Outdoor & Camping Safety
- In the event of severe weather such as a typhoon or heavy rain, follow organizer instructions and evacuate immediately.
- Regarding the Gangjeon Stream — swimming while intoxicated is at your own risk; children must be accompanied by a guardian at all times.
- The area near the entrance may be congested due to construction on the Gangjeon Bridge. We recommend using public transportation or carpooling.
- Lost items will be kept at the organizer's booth for one week after the event, then disposed of.
- Guardians are responsible for the safety of children in their care. Do not leave children unattended.
- If an adult who is not a child's guardian is alone with a child in a way that feels unnatural, please notify a staff member. Inappropriate words or physical contact toward children will be handled more seriously than similar incidents involving adults.
9. Accessibility
- The venue is wheelchair accessible.
- We have not been able to arrange separate interpretation, sign language interpretation, or audio description services.
- We will endeavor to operate all public restrooms as gender-neutral facilities during performance hours.
10. Environment & Sustainability
Gangjeong village is a space that has defended ecology and peace against militarization. We have a responsibility to preserve this land in its entirety.
- Take your trash with you. Use the recycling bins and do not leave waste at the venue.
- Do not damage the natural environment within the venue (plants, rocks, waterways, etc.).
